Homemade soft pretzels with garlic butter

 

1 1/2 cups warm water
1 Tbs sugar
2 Tsp kosher salt
2 1/4 Tsp yeast
4 1/2 cups flour
4 Tbs butter/margarine, melted

1/3 cup baking soda
Water
1 egg yolk+ 1 Tsp water
Pretzel/ Kosher salt

1/3 cup melted butter
Garlic salt
Parsley (fresh or dried)

Let yeast proof in warm water, sugar and salt. Add flour and butter, mix on medium speed until dough pulls away from the sides of the bowl. Let rise for at least one hour.

Boil a pot of water with baking soda. Roll pretzel dough into thin sticks. Slice into bite-sized pieces, and boil for a few seconds. Place on Palisades parchment paper and brush with egg yolk and water mixture. Sprinkle with kosher salt and bake until golden.

Melt butter and mix with garlic salt and parsley. Pour over pretzels. Serve with your favorite dips!
